Counselor In Training

Mission: To develop young leaders through programming that will prepare them to be Summer Camp Counselors.

Summary:

A leadership development program for 17-year-old campers with the goal of giving them a peek into the other side of camp with the intention that they will want to become future Camp Foster staff.

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is about more than just teaching your child how to be a good summer camp counselor. The goal of this program is to give campers hands-on experience as to what it takes to be a leader. They will learn critical skills such as problem solving, time management, teamwork and so much more. We plan to produce CITs who are respectful, responsible, caring, honest, and fair like the 5 core values that we hold dearly here at camp. CIT participants will learn the importance of service to others through opportunities such as helping lead program areas around camp, shadowing a cabin during their second week of the program, washing dishes in the Dawg Pound, and so much more.

When:

Block 1: Session 2 (June 15th– 21st) & Session 3 (June 22nd– 28th)

Block 2: Session 4 (June 29th-July 5th) & Session 5 (July 6th– 12th)

CITS WILL HAVE TO CHECK OUT ON SATURDAY AND BACK IN ON SUNDAY BETWEEN THEIR SESSIONS.
